As Colombia has become not only one of the great coffee producers in the world but also something of a Mecca for paragliding pilots from across the globe, I thought “Colombia Parapente” was an appropriate name for this Colombian coffee. Parapente being the Spanish word for paragliding. I’m happy to share videos of the amazing flying there from 2020 and 2021 – and 2022 coming soon!
As for the coffee, Colombia is the world’s third-largest coffee producer after Brazil and Vietnam (that surprises a lot of folks). Colombia is, however, the world’s number one producer of the arabica coffee bean. In 2011, Colombia’s “Coffee Cultural Landscape” was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Colombian coffee beans have a reputation for being mild and well-balanced.
This coffee is a small community lot which means that many farmers come together from one community and pool their coffee. That coffee is then sorted and processed to make a larger lot of coffee. Colombia Parapente is grown in Las Mercedes, Garzón, Huila, Colombia. This is a very clean and delicious coffee that is super drinkable anytime during the day. It’s a great example of what a well-produced Colombian coffee can be, and we know you will love it.
Available in whole bean (recommended) or ground for home brewing.
