As mentioned for the Colombian Parapente coffee, Colombia has become not only one of the great coffee producers in the world but also something of a Mecca for paragliding pilots from across the globe. While I speak very little Spanish, one word I know well is “tranquilo”, as I often hear it while on the paragliding launches. Tranquilo translates as calm, quiet, tranquil, or peaceful. So often in life, we need to remind ourselves to be tranquilo.
As for the coffee, Colombia is the world’s third-largest coffee producer after Brazil and Vietnam (that surprises a lot of folks). Colombia is, however, the world’s number one producer of the arabica coffee bean. In 2011, Colombia’s “Coffee Cultural Landscape” was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Colombian coffee beans have a reputation for being mild and well-balanced.
Available in whole bean (recommended) or ground for home brewing.
